Tacos Near You is written and edited by Niam Hocaine. Venue data comes from OpenStreetMap and public place data; rankings follow one published formula; nobody can pay for placement; and we do not state as fact anything we cannot keep current.

Who writes this
The taco guides, style comparisons, the ranking method and the blog are written and maintained by Niam Hocaine. Every guide page carries a byline and a last-updated date.
Where the data comes from
- Venue listings: OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed ODbL. Each listing links back to its source record.
- Ratings, review counts, hours and features (where shown): public place data, refreshed periodically and attributed on the page. If a field is unknown we say so; we never fill it in with a guess.
- Taco and chain background: compiled from published reference sources and cited on the guide.
How listings are ranked
The full method is on How We Rank. In short: taco specialisation, whether the listing is verified against public data, and how complete the details are; when star ratings exist they lead, weighted by review count. The formula is the same for every venue and the page is updated whenever it changes.
No paid placement
No business can pay to be listed, to rank higher, or to have a competitor removed. There is currently no advertising in the listings and no affiliate revenue. If that ever changes, paid or affiliate content will be labelled clearly and this page updated first.
Use of AI
Per-venue summaries and some descriptive text are generated from the structured data we hold (venue type, location, ratings, features) and reviewed against it. Editorial guides, the ranking method and opinions are written by a person. We do not publish AI-written text as first-hand experience.
Corrections
Report an error at the OpenStreetMap record linked from the listing, or via the contact page with the page URL. Verified corrections to source data appear here on the next refresh; corrections to our own writing are made promptly and the last-updated date changed.
